    23 October 2014

BILLY MITCHELL AND RAY LAIDLAW THE LINDISFARNE STORY Lindisfarne was Tyneside's best-loved band for over thirty years and The Lindisfarne Story is a celebration of the group's music and achievements. The show is devised, written and performed by drummer/founder member Ray Laidlaw, and Billy Mitchell, front man for the final eight years of the group. Ray and Billy perform acoustic versions of Lindisfarne's classic songs and tell the inside story of the group's rise to fame, from Whitley Bay to San Francisco Bay, from Rothbury to Glastonbury. They describe the group's early days on Tyneside in the 1960's hustling for gigs and their rise to fame in the early seventies.

    24 October 2014

In a faraway land beyond imagination, Tchaikovsky's sumptuous music fills the air and wondrous characters come to life before your very eyes. Fairytale characters abound alongside a King, a Queen, Good and Evil Fairies, Fairies of Gold, Silver, Diamonds and Sapphire plus the inevitable handsome Prince, all weaving their magic to present this timeless tale of Princess Aurora, The Sleeping Beauty - a story lovingly repeated throughout generations but never before performed so magnificently as with this colourful spectacle of Russia's finest... Moscow Ballet - La Classique. As the traditional Russian story goes, it is a prick from a knitting needle hidden in flowers by the wicked fairy Carabose that sends Princess Aurora into her 100 year sleep. Rescued by the kiss of her Prince, the beautiful Aurora and her legend live on once more. You are cordially invited, one and all, to relive the fairytale dream in this universally acclaimed production. MOSCOW BALLET - LA CLASSIQUE The greatest success of Russian theatre is undoubtedly Classical Ballet, an area in which Russian dancers (aided by some of the world's greatest choreographers) have reigned supreme since the 1820's.

  • Cheryl,Mike & Jay (formerly of Bucks Fizz)

    25 June 2015

Early in 1981, four complete strangers sat in the drawing room of a house in Fulham and were told: "you are now Bucks Fizz".

In the eight weeks between that first meeting and appearing on "A Song for Europe" on 11th March 1981, Bucks Fizz were hurled into a melee of rehearsing, recording, routining, styling, interviews and photography. All that hard work and effort was to pay dividends - they went on to win the Song For Europe and Eurovision Song Contest 1981 and became household names around the world.

With over 20 singles released over the next few years including 3 number ones, "My Camera Never Lies", "Land Of Make Believe" and of course, "Making Your Mind Up", they sold in excess of 15 million records, spending 219 weeks in the UK charts alone! Making Your Mind Up went to No 1 in nine countries!

Although working for several years now, there was obviously one thing missing - a fourth person!  The vocals were always there but the dance routines that Fizz was so famous for, were definitely lacking, so in comes Bobby McVey who was also a Eurovision entrant but in 1984 for the UK.
