About the Epsom
Playhouse

Opened
in 1984, the Epsom Playhouse has a wide and varied
programme
of events featuring both professional and community productions.
The main Auditorium seats 450 and plays host to major leading theatrical
companies, including Opera, Dance, Drama, Comedy, Light Entertainment,
Variety, Popular Children's Shows and more. Added to which we
run a Summer Film Season to enable you to catch up on those films you
missed first time round. |

Epsom Playhouse actively encourages and offers facilities
for the young by hosting a Youth Theatre Workshop and
Pre-School Playgroup. |

The Myers Studio within the Playhouse seats up to 80 and is used as a
regular venue for professional productions, our ever popular Studio Jazz
evenings, children's shows and community events. Both the Auditorium and
the Myers Studio are available for both corporate hire and private

is only 16 miles from London and has a frequent rail connection. The Playhouse
is only a few minutes walk from Epsom Station and well sign posted. Epsom

The
Statue - 'Spectre de la Rose'
The wonderfully evocative life size bronze sculpture of John Gilpin as
'Spectre de la Rose', inspired by Nijinsky, is one of the major works
of art by Tom Merrifield.
'Spectre de la Rose' is on permanent loan from the artist Tom Merrifield
and his wife Blackie. It was unveiled on 30 April 1999.
