Join the Epsom Symphony Orchestra on Saturday 17^th October as they mark the start of their 75^th year of making music in Epsom.  The programme opens with Brahms’ lively and jovial Academic Festival Overture.  Full of musical jokes, but also the complex technique that Brahms was famous for, this really is a fitting way to mark the Orchestra’s celebration.

Young soloist Mikhail Andreev then returns to perform the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto, and at just 14, mastering what is considered to be essential repertoire for the professional violinist shows that he really is a talent to watch out for!

The Orchestra concludes their concert with Tchaikovsky’s sixth Symphony.  Known as the Pathétique (passionate) symphony, this work evokes energy and emotion is equal measures to both players and audience.
